Meet Dr. Iati

Dr. Marl IatiDr. Mark Iati's style has been called relaxed and comforting, his skills have been described as artistic and detailed, and these are just a few of the designations given to the area's finest cosmetic and restorative dentist. His election to a 4-year term to the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) clearly defines his role as a leader in the field of cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Iati brings the panache and quality of the big city to Akron. His practice is focused on cosmetic, reconstructive, TMJ and facial rejuvenation, yet he is experienced in all facets of general dentistry. He offers digital X-rays, laser cavity detection, computerized TMJ diagnosis and treatment (neuromuscular dentistry), and computerized anesthetic delivery for pain free injections. For relaxation, Dr. Iati offers in-room flat screen televisions, satellite radio, paraffin hand dips and a warm towel finish sending you refreshed after your visit.

Botox and Juvederm treatments (FDA approved procedures) are also a part of Dr. Iati's practice. In addition to aesthetic improvements, Botox is also indicated for the treatment of migraines and TMJ. Patients can experience virtual painless dermafiller, because he anesthetizes the area prior to the procedure. Historically, patients had already been coming to Dr. Iati to be numbed prior to having dermafiller procedures elsewhere. Dr. Iati provides both services.

Chao pinhole Certified. Dr. Iati is one of the first 1600 dentists in the WORLD to become certified in this revolutionary gum replacement technique. . Conventional grafting procedures are now obsolete because  no scapel, no sutures, no painful shot in the roof of the mouth and no cutting of tissue from the roof causing the dreaded pizza burn afterwards. Please view the before and after photos on the link below.

Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique in Stow - A breakthrough treatment for gum recession

What is gum recession?

Gum recession refers to the loss of gum tissue along the gumline. This can occur as a result of periodontal disease (gingivitis, periodontitis, advanced periodontitis), the natural aging process, or abrasive habits when it comes to brushing the teeth.

Why should gum recession be taken seriously?

When gum recession occurs, the root structure of the tooth becomes exposed. This means that tooth decay and other problems can affect the teeth along the gumline and beneath it. Since healthy gums are essential for a healthy mouth, getting gum recession treated is important for lasting dental wellness.

What is the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique (PST)?

The Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique is a minimally invasive option for treating gum recession. Unlike traditional grafting techniques, PST is incision and suture free.  All of the tools and techniques used to perform the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique were created by Dr. John Chao, and who trained our doctor.

How does the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique (PST) differ from traditional gum grafting?

Traditional gum recession treatments involve the use of donor tissue or soft tissue grafts in order to rebuild the gumline. This soft tissue would be sutured in place and would join with existing gum tissue as it healed.  While this traditional grafting treatment is effective, comparable results with better patient experience can be achieved through the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique.

How is Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique (PST) performed?

During the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique, a needle is used to make a small hole in the patient’s existing gum tissue. Through this pinhole, special instruments are used to gently loosen the gum tissue. These tools help expand and slide the gumline to cover the exposed root structure.

Trust, is the word that comes to mind when I think of Dr. Iati and his staff. Being a one of a kind patient and asking for a 'Masterpiece Smile' was no easy task. To top things off, I moved to Newport Coast, California in the middle of my procedure.

I could have easily selected another dentist and joined the Hollywood Stars, but I knew Dr. Iati had a mission that no other could accurately attempt to complete. It wasn't just slapping on veneers for a sparkling white smile. It was a complete adjustment of my bite. Even after Dr. Iati suggested we select a dentist in my area to help with the procedure, I refused and was willing to travel back and forth to accomplish our goal.

No other doctor or dentist has ever been as concerned about me as a patient and I was not about to give that up. He personally called me at home after each procedure; he would check up on me through email or a phone call just to see how I was feeling or if there was any change. When I was down and complaining, he would listen and help me through it.

Now, I feel it was well worth the wait. I have no more headaches or jaw pain, just that 'Masterpiece Smile' I requested when I first sat in his chair. Mission Accomplished! Thanks, Dr. Iati!!

Jan B. Newport Coast, CA

Dear Dr. Iati (and all the nice folks at Stow Dental Group),

Just a note to say thanks again for making what could have been a traumatic ordeal into a pure pleasure. I am still amazed at how nice the whole experience of "going to the dentist" can be. I sure appreciate how hard you all work to make this happen. Your skill and expertise are only half of it. Your attitude and thoughtfulness are the rest. I have NEVER been to ANY medical facility that made me feel less like a symptom and more like a human being and I wanted you to know you are not taken for granted.

From the time I walked in the door to the time I left all of you treat me with the dignity and respect that make me feel good about my visits. No Kidding, I now look forward to my visits.

Thank you, Thank you, and Thank you.

Roy T.

Dear Dr. Iati,

I am writing this letter to thank you for all the great dental work that you have done to bring back my overall health and well being.

After having you and your team of professionals evaluate my condition and perform my dental work, I have realized what a life changing experience this has been for me and my family.

My past dental work left me with a missing tooth and a very unhealthy future. I fully expected to loose the remaining teeth I had at the time. After my first visit, I knew I had chosen the right dentist for my needs. I decided then and there that my entire family of four would move to your practice.

I can never thank you enough for what this has meant to me and my family but if this letter helps another family choose your practice, then I feel that I have helped others that may be in need of your dental skills and expertise.

Sincerely thankful, Richard Green
